CORE & SPINE WELCOMES YOU

About Petina

Petina is a GCC and BCA registered chiropractor based in Deepcut near Camberley in Surrey,  with over a decade of experience treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction in people ranging from teenagers, to those in their nineties. She has a special interest in helping people identify the root cause of their issue and in supporting them through recovery from pain and dysfunction to becoming stronger and more resilient.

Petina takes a whole-person approach to her work, she understands that we humans are more than a collection of bones, joints and muscles to be adjusted, this is why she allows longer than typical appointment times as standard, and will explore with you the lifestyle choices which may be perpetuating your issue, and support you in making changes which lead to you being a better you.

Petina has had specific post-graduate training in postpartum corrective exercise and is well placed to help you restore your strength and form post pregnancy.

Petina is always working to expand her knowledge and skill-set, ask her what her continuing professional development learning is about this year, she may have something new to offer you!

If you a currently suffering from pain or discomfort in your neck or back due to your occupational postures and activities, or you have stiffness in your joints due to age related changes such as osteoarthritis (OA), or are suffering from headaches, or even have a new (acute) pain in any of the joints of your arms or legs, Petina is able to examine and diagnose the problem and get you to the right place to get it seen to. She is usually able to treat you at the first visit, but sometimes more diagnostic information is required, in these instances she may recommend a scan such as ultrasound or MRI. Sometimes the diagnosis is something which is outside of her scope of practice, and at these times, Petina is able to refer you on to an appropriate healthcare provider.

Chiropractors are statutorily regulated primary healthcare professionals, specialising in issues arising from joints, muscles, fascia (a connective tissue) and nerves, who work in the private healthcare sector and in some NHS settings. To become a chiropractor requires undertaking a five-year full-time degree program where we learn medical diagnosis, radiography and radiology, as well as a thorough grounding in anatomy and physiology and biomechanics, along with the manual treatment skills associated with the profession. We are primary care practitioners; which means we are able not only to diagnose conditions which we are able to treat, but also conditions which may sit outside of our scope of practice, and in these instances, we would refer you to another healthcare professional.
